Congratulations! You have made the decision to seek the expertise of an Interior Designer, and you have chosen Evolution Design to guide you through the process. Once we have discussed your budget and you have signed a brief Letter of Agreement with submission of your initial design fee, our team of trained designers will be ready to begin transforming your space.
Create a Concept. . . Our commitment to you begins with our initial meeting to discuss your vision for your new space. What look do you feel best suits you and/or your family? Do you envision your home to be light and casual, or would you prefer formal and elegant? Here's where we learn about your family so we can develop a design strategy that best suits your lifestyle. We will be meeting with you multiple times throughout the process, and it will be important that all decision makers try to attend. Your input will shape and guide the overall success of your project.
Space Plan. . . To properly plan your project, we work from a set of scaled drawings. If you have the original set, please bring them to our initial meeting. If you do not have a professional plan of your home, one can be created. From these drawings, we can determine the placement of furniture in your home to ensure attractive aesthetics as well as practical functionality.
Interior Modification. . . If construction issues need to be addressed, now is the time to do so. We use the set of scaled drawings to talk about what changes, if any, need to take place to enhance your environment. Depending on how extensive the construction phase is, in most cases we can develop a schedule using qualified tradesmen to perform the necessary modifications. For larger scale construction requirements, we have relationships with general contractors to ensure the proper execution of the alterations needed. We will also coordinate and supervise the entire process so you don't have to!
Flooring. . . No more dreaded tile and carpet shopping in your spare time! We have all of those resources right here under one roof. We will supply options for the application, as well as the materials and labor necessary to complete the installation.
Furniture and Fabric. . . This phase is the most loved by our clients! We ask that you give us a "color range" that you feel most comfortable with. Sometimes the color scheme comes from a picture you found in a magazine, or possibly from an inspiration piece that you've always had. You may want to incorporate furnishings that you already own and love, and blend them with new complementary pieces. We start with your individual preferences, and go to work for you selecting fabrics and furnishings from our extensive resource library of quality furniture manufacturers, fabric mills, wall covering and/or accessory suppliers (just to name a few!). Once we have narrowed down the choices to those that match your personalized design, we ask you to come back into our office for a working meeting in order to view these selections. Following your approval, a detailed, itemized proposal is prepared for you.
Nearing the Finish Line. . . Once we've completed any necessary construction and have received your merchandise, we will call you to schedule an installation date that's convenient for you! We will install the window treatments (A/K/A draperies, blinds and/or shutters), deliver and place all furnishings and accessories, and hang the artwork and mirrors. Many families like to plan the day away from home so that they can come home to the completed transformation. . . And we will be there to see your delighted reaction. That's what we love most!
